Riddle Me This:
If you were to 1/4 mile a Quattro (85-87 4Q) at a drag strip, would you lock
the front and rear diffs for max traction?

Not at the power-levels I run. 85 ur-q, IA Stage II, S4 turbo, adj WG at 15-17 PSI, K&N, cat-back 2 1/2" totally open exhaust, Tri-electrode Bosch plugs, 225-50-15 P700Zs on 15x8 Ronals. I get the best results with both diffs open so that I cat break the front tires loose on the launch and keep the revs/boost up. 15.x seconds at ~<100 MPH. On a 4KQ I would also run open-diffs for the same reason - you gots plent-o traction relative to the available power.
