Re: vacuum leak

Somebody asked:

>>So the million $$ question is, how do I find the leak?

To which Human answered:

>I asked and this is what I was told (guess what, the coupe failed as
> well...)

>With the engine running, play an *unlit* propane torch around the vacuum
>hoses. The leak(s) will suck propane into the manifold and cause a surge.

Ouch! That sounds scary. The Human's idea is great, but I would suggest the
opposite approach. I once read about using the same method, only with a gas, that
would stumble the engine. Unfortunately I don't remember what type of gas. One of
the nobel gases, perhaps. May be He? Any chemists on the list care to comment?
