The ABS Measures A/C voltage.  I've never seen a abs brain die so it must 
be either the abs sensor depth, the sensor themselves, the wiring between 
the sensor's and the the brain OR (My vote PROVIDED the sensor depth is 
correct) the sensor connectors....  Ever had a coolant header tank leak? 
Or spill coolant when topping the tank off? The left front ABS Sensor 
connector can cause the problems that you describe.
