Jeez. Maniac meets monster.
I had a wonderful conversation about three weeks ago, with one of the mechanics
who helped take Audi to the the World Rally Championship in 1982. He has
worked on nothing but ur-quattros since then, but is now starting to work on
A4Qs. His personal opinion is that Audi should never have sold the ur-quattro
to the general public - "nobody drives them like they need to be driven".
His opinion, which I'm beginning to share having seen some of the hardware, is
that the A4Q could ultimately eclipse the urq. We went through the braking
system geometry a couple of weeks ago, and that sucker is _BUILT_!
It's a very, very well thought out piece of engineering.
