In this case tell her to stay away from the big Audis. They are extremely complex
and expensive to fix (if you do not do the work youself). Don't get me wrong - I
love my 5000s and 200s, but I do all the mechanical AND electrical work on them
myself and I know them very well.
Also, the early to mid '80sh 5000 were anything but reliable.
I would strongly recommend a 4000 instead. Same excellent german car, only smaller
and RELIABLE like a Honda.
