I'll bet they have some kinda mechanism which varies the tork transfer 
between the front and rear axles.  I'll bet its electronic, and 
controllled by the computer.  Ford has this (on a much lower level 
technically) in their new Explorer, and it has proven very good on the 
Baja trucks.

Just a wild guess.  :-)
