Thw owner's manual that came with my 80q had a couple of pages in it on 
 when to lock the diffs.  From memory, you should consider locking the 
 centre diff. when any of the following apply:
	driving fast on bendy roads
	car is fully loaded
	towing a trailer
	roads are slippery
You must (if you value the rubber on your tyres) unlock the diff. 
 before turning a corner.

The rear diff should only be locked when you are stuck in snow, muddy 
 field etc.
