Phil,

that reminds me of something that happened to My Old 10V Ur Quattro i.e.
I wish that
removal of the oil filler cap stop the engine under all conditions as one
day I was going
up a steepish hill near where I live (High Wycombe In Fact) and I was
giving the old
Ur a bit of stick & probably showing of to a friend I had in the car,
when We got to the
top of the hill (After overtaking a couple of lesser cars) I was doing
approx. 90MPH ish
I decided to deccelerate for the imminent roundabout however when I had
finished
servicing it the previous day I had obviously failed to replace the oil
filler cap properly
which had now removed itself from the rocker cover and decided to place
itself in the
throttle mechanism, jamming the throttle in the fully on position ! . .
Oh Dear what a
feeling approaching a roundabout at 90 ish, . . . even a Quattro can't do
that !
Luckily I just had enough time to turn off the ignition and stamp on the
anchors !

Anyway the moral of this story is (if there is one) is all you 10V Ur
Quattro
Owners out there check Your Oil Filler Cap is firmly fitted otherwise it
could be more
than a bit of Oil splattered on the front of You Quattro ! ! !
