So the camera thinks it's in the blazing light of a noonday sun, when
actually it's Audi headlights? Not *my* Audi headlights.
Ambient-light meters are very mature technology anyway; cheaper and
more reliable than through-the-lens metering. It's most likely what
they're using.

If you're doing James Bond stuff, why not just have a shutter that folds
over the plate and covers it entirely?
The only device being discussed that's based on actual physics is the
radar detector. Spend your money there and pay attention.
