Re: Towing an 86 4kq
>>>I thought I read about damage being done when towed by a wrecker.
OTOH,
the guys that race their 84 4kq in Kansas say they tow their car all over
the midwest on all four behing a 5ktq.<<<
Being towed on a wrecker is bad IF dollies are not used. The wheels on
the ground rotate; the others don't. A MAJOR conflict in the center diff
is the result!!!
I have heard stories of quattro center diffs locking while on the back
of the wrecker, spinning the front tires on the wheel lift pans --
interesting effect.
To answer your question, though, towing on all four shouldn't cause any
damage, since the front and rear wheels will be relatively close to the
same speed.
