Another Kanc Run Review
Well, it was a blast.
I believe my car (the stealth 100Q) was the slowest of the bunch,
having only 130 horses to haul around 4000 pounds. But, keeping my
foot in the gas a lot, as usual, kept me up with the group.
I will say I learned a ton about driving my car at high speeds, and
not around some artificial track, but on real roads in real life.
Thank god for new tires and suspension bits. The replacement bushings
all around made a huge difference.
Bear Notch Rd. was a blast (I did it three times). The washboards
Osman talked about gave me a bit of a scare the first time, but my
trusty car chewed through them easily.
Probably the best part of the trip was the tail end down route 153 from
Conway to Sanbornville. By then, it was down to Paul, Me, James, Jim,
Jim, and two others whose names escape me. The official speed record on
that road was 86 MPH. Not bad for a posted 35 (honest officer, we weren't
speeding ;-) Lots of twists and turns, lots of practice at speed.
When's the next one?
