Tim, my Quattro Coupe 20V has a relay sound that cycles every 30 seconds or
so, but, it's not the heater on my car, it's the SEAT HEATERS.  Once turned
on, I hear the relay to the left of my steering wheel just behing the vents.
 this only happens when seat heaters are on, and sometimes the relay gets
crazy and clicks on/off very fast and will stop if I turn the heaters off and
then back on.

As for the price, I don't know the book for your car, but it sounds like it's
in great shape and could easily be worth book value, maybee a tad more!  They
are wonderful cars, don't let this one get away, because they are rare! (It
took me a full year to find a 20V Audi).
