Oh the Tragedy Follow-Up
As you might remember from my earlier post the 885KCSTQ has a sore rump, I
wanted to follw-up my previous post on a FYI basis ......
First, thanks to all of you which sent me some e-mail support and areas to
inspect for hidden impact damage.....There were roughly 4 people interested
in the slaughter of a Camry driver but anyways.....
I received two estimates for body repair/body parts (the car is getting
fixed on the 28th) ....a new rear bumper cover .. $ 545.00 .....a new chrome
trim piece which is on top pf bumper $ 115.00....some labor to install both
of those components and some labor to fill a dent left on the metal below the
light assembly...total body bill $ 1145.00 .....two reputable estimates were
within 9 dollars of each other....
Now for the exhaust.... the impact from the rear drove the rear resonator and
pipe downward 2-3 inches and forward 3-4 inches.....the pipe is now resting
against the left rear lower suspension causing a rubbing....I went to the
dealer to have this repaired and from the CAT to the back will be another
1100 or so... the bill is simply 1.5 hours of labor, some hangers, some nuts
and bolts, and the exhaust components from Audi...@ 785.00 from the CAT
back....
the insurance company wants to depreciate my exhaust so they don't have to
pay the entire bill....I might have to pay for 15% of the exhaust parts
myself..., I at least talked them out of repairing by bending....
