I'm a supplier too - to the IBM mainframe world. I'm a member of the IBM
mainframe mailing list - on which I, too, have never touted for business.
Quattros are _not_ my business. They're my hobby. All this jacket business is
_costing_ me money in email, phone calls, faxes and time - none of which I
charge to the Club. Organising regalia is a club activity - none of us is big
enough to do it on our own, just as none of us can organise a day at Audi Sport
on our own, or a track day at Castle Combe, or a meeting with the International
Sport Club, or an itinerary for a visting quattro enthusiast. That's what
clubs are for.
That's _all_ it is. No one, certainly not me, almost certainly not the UK Club
and in all probability not the manufacturer is making a red cent on this deal.
It's a club activity, or at least I saw it as such. I, also, see loads and
loads of posts about non-quattro Audis, NASCAR, BMWs, Kanc, and the like. Some
bore me witless.
