He means the list is what we make of it.  In that sense it is "our" list.  I
.E. me helping some guy with his hood release cable, or two people figuring
out how their sunroofs don't work.  That's us.  However, Dan *is* the list. 
Exit Dan, bye bye list.  Remember the gradual chaos that seeped into the
program when he was away?  I mean the computer errors. In a few weeks it was
almost unusable.  This list exists because Dan *created* it and *maintains*
it.

If I started a New England Audi club I would expect him to let references to
it slide by, but when it came to selling club paraphernalia to my club
members - that's really weird.  Think about it.  Sure it's Audi related, but
can't I just contact them directly?  After all, they belong to my club, I
have their info.

As far as list exposure, it will always be there (for instance in Sig files)
, and the curious can PRIVATELY email the parties involved.  Like every
reply I think I have posted to this issue - has been private Email.  Until
this one.

This is not a democracy it is a benevolent dictatorship.  It may or may not
be Dan, but I've noticed some of my off-target posts don't come up.  I
always assumed that was editorial action on his part.  This post may not
surface, who knows?  Anybody ever read Walden 2?  One big question raised
about that utopian society was what would happen if the mastermind behind it
was no longer around to tinker with the mechanism if it went awry.  

By the way... I am very very sad.  I broke my Audi on Sunday in a puddle. 
It won't run, the engine won't turn.  I really hope I can resurrect it. 
Without this list I know for certain it would be twenty times harder - and I
have an import specialist garage next door.
