Regarding the sex of the 1982 USA urq...and for that
 matter...all urq's;

I believe that the rule goes something like this:
 
    Things of beauty, grace, and speed are most appropriately
referred to in the feminine gender.  Since the urq is beautiful
(most), graceful (to say the least), and fast (yes sir) I believe
that urq's are female.
    This would also go a long way in explaining why two urqs can not get   
together to form another whole urq without being sacrificed themselves.
    At best, the urq might be hermaphroditic, this would explain its
notably masculine qualities along with its finicky and expensive nature.
It would not help to explain why no urq left alone in a garage has
ever begat another.
