Can't bleed the clutch...Please Help.
Ok, I just replaced the clutch on my 87 coupe gt. I changed the pressure
plate and throw out bearing too. I made sure that the fork was aligned
with the slave cylinder piston when the trans was put back up into place.
The clutch system had worked before my repair. Now that the system is
back together I have tried bleeding the clutch system, but I still can't
get the slave cylinder to engage. As far as I can tell, the master
cylinder is working. I assume this is true because when bleeding the
system and pressing the clutch pedal I get a pressurized stream of fluid
from the bleeder valve. One thing to note is that I did let the system
drian out after disconnecting the hydraulic line.
Is there some specific procedure I should be using?
the psiton in the slave cyclinder moved freely when the trans was apart.
Any ideas?
TIA
