Which brand wheel bearings?

I can only (through gritted teeth) comment on my experience with rear wheel 
bearings for a 1982 Audi 80 (4000).

I ordered them from the dealer, and paid $$$.  I opened the Audi/VAG box, 
complete with its shipping forms from Ingolstadt, to discover bearings made by 
British Timken less than fifteen miles away in Northampton.
 
I paid around $40 for those bearings to enjoy a short holiday in Ingolstadt.

By and large, Audi uses commodity components.
