I don't know about importing a whole car to the U.S. But if someone was
really desparate couldn't they buy a U.S. model of the car and ship in
the appropriate parts of the said European car in piece and get it
converted to Eurospec in the U.S.? I guess the serial numbers won't match,
but it is already registered in the U.S. As long as you don't try to sell
it and it passes emmissions shouldn't that be okay?

But ofcourse that method would only work for cars with similar models
already imported into the U.S. 

But I have seen diplomats with Europe and Japan market cars here in D.C. I
don't know what the deal is for them. 

I wouldn't mind getting a S6 Plus or (I don't want to be blasphemous to
the Audi god) a Nissan Skyline GTR if I could. . .well afford to buy one
too.
