Airbags

All:

I have an '86 5KCSTQ just turned 200K miles.  Love it, ain't getting
rid of it.  Wife wants airbags.  I don't think it has anything to do
with _my_ driving habits.

The question is, what year did Audi have airbags in a comparable vehicle
(100/200)?  Also, if anybody has any leads on said vehicle please let
me know.

What about retro kits for airbags?  Any experience out there?
