John,

I don't want to start a flame war here, but I think that either
the RX7 driver was grossly incompetent, or he wasn't trying. There simply
is no contest in anything but compromised-traction conditions. I think
that us quattro nuts rightfully hype up the quattro, but compared to a
real sportscar like the RX7 twin turbo, there are precious few quattros
(even modded) that will keep up. My T-bird will do the 30 - 70 test in
5th gear faster than my Q in 3rd gear! My Q is fast for a quattro, but it
just cant compare to the raw power of a big displacement pony car. I dare
say that my Thunderbird could prolly keep up with even the almighty
PDQSHIP (I'm serious here, the PDQSHIP _IS_ very mighty.) The Talon guys
do well to run low 12s and even high 11s in the 1/4 mile, but even they
admit that they are slow compared to alot of the pony cars that have the
really serious mods.

Just a reality check. Take it or leave it. No flames, I don't
care if so-and-so's beetle will beat a '71 Super Bee.
