John,
I don't want to start a flame war here, but I think that either
the RX7 driver was grossly incompetent, or he wasn't trying. There simply
is no contest in anything but compromised-traction conditions. I think
that >>>>>>>>>>>>>
.... Since the A4t isn't even here yet, this would be a A4qV6? In that case
John, graydon is correct, an RX7tt is the fastest thing to a stock race car
I've ever sat in, more serious than even a Supra-tt.... If you look at the
drag coefficient of the new eurocars, A4q included, a 5ktq has a lower drag
than most of the newer cars.... An RX7 has a shape that hardly one would
consider boxy, and has more aero advantage to any q built to date... So
either you head butted a non turbo version, or the guy was asleep at the
wheel.... I would think you would be hard pressed to beat either, but a
quick ck of ANY published numbers (heck, take the slowest RX7tt and the
fastest A4q) and you can assure yourself that any contest really wasn't....
To play in the RX7tt league, one would need a Stealth tt, a Supra tt, a
Vette ZR1, a sport quattro maybe... PDQSHIP lost a coupla valiant fights to
the quarter mile with a neighbors RX7tt, and I assure you the drivers skill
was in my favour....
