I also have had this happen.  For me it turned out to be the plug wires.  
Moisture was settling in overnight, and small breaks in the insulation 
(some under the metal covers) combined with the moisture to play havoc at 
low speeds/ rpms.  I changed the plug wires, they needed it anyway just 
by the age of the car,  and the problem is gone.
