	The insurance man is probably quoting wholesale value, and 
secondly, he probably isn't far off, because, as we all know, Audis have 
horrible resale.

	Encourage your friend to fight for all he can.  Let us know how 
it goes.  Hopefully we won't need the info, but you can bet someone here 
will eventually.
