5ks exhaust

Hello everybody, been lurking for a few days and am a newbie to the list. 
I am looking forward to hearing everyone's comments on the 1.8t when they
get a test drive. I'll be posting my own once I can get behind the wheel. 
Hopefully I will finally be able to get into a quattro next spring and use
everyone's expertise to eventually tune it more to my liking.

The reason I'm posting however is that my current '87 5ks (5-speed) needs a
new muffler. I pretty much need everything from the catalytic converter
back.  I went to Midas and they want $374.59 installed.  The big hitters
are the two mufflers for $165 a piece. 

Anybody know a way to do this cheaper?  Otherwise it may be a rumbling
winter.  Come spring anybody interested in a 5-speed 5ks?
