Help on Hose's

Since I don't really want to spend $30 at the dealer to replace my blown out
1/4" heater hose ($15/foot!!!).  And since nobody else in Central Texas
sells anything smaller than 1/2", I've decided to use a 1/4" fuel/emissions
hose (2 ft. plus clamps for $3.30).

It LOOKS like the same hose, and obviously it will handle the pressure, but
will it tolerate the temperature?

Anybody have any comments, etc.
