S8 article and Audis in Korea

I read an article about the S8 in a British car magazine, "Complete Car."
The car has 18" wheels! 0-60 in less than 6 seconds. They called it the
best sedan in the world.

Besides that it had the sports steering wheel, sports seats, sports
suspension, a six speed transmission (5 spd tip tronic in Britain), and
bright shiny exhaust tips. Extra horse power generated via better
breathing and compression. They said don't even bother trying to play with
it unless you are driving a Carrera.

One thing that bothered me was the chrome side view mirrors. But that's
just my opinion.

My cousin had a chance to ride the A8 in Korea. He said that it was very
smooth and quiet. But he didn't get to drive it. Audi's are popping up
more and more frequently in Korea. But the number one European car is
still Mercedes. My uncle bought a used E-class for roughly
$100,000. The Mercury Sable goes for $34,000 and that's because of some
deal Ford cooked up with the government and Kia (the distributor and car
manufacturer that Ford owns a part of.)

He also spotted an A4 with massive O.Z. wheels identical to the one
the supertouring racers have, and get this. . .carbon fiber air dam just
like the race cars. Not one of those stick on under the bumper kind of
thing, but real carbon fiber and it had the air vents on the side and
everything. The interior had aluminum trimmings and aggressively
bolstered seats and shoulder harness. The exhaust tip was a massive
single tip one. Man, I wish I was there. I would've waited to see who
owned it, and asked if there were any engine mods. . .but I doubt it.
There's so much congestion in Seoul that I hardly drive when I'm there.
Walking is so much faster.
