Max sells used vac. pumps for $140 (AVS 360.748.8578).  Apparently this is
common on the I-5 engines.  My pump makes the same noise and it is usually
mistaken by non-audi people as a lifter problem.  A lot of people remove
the pin.  I was told it is possible to lose braking power if you remove
the pin.  I can't remember where, but I think rebuilds are for sale
somewhere?
