I am new to the list, but I just had to ad my two cents worth on this one!! My wife and I own a 1990 Audi 90
and have been using Mobil 1 in it from DAY ONE. The vehicle has over 150k miles and still runs like the day we
picked it up from the dealer. I might add that we have had no mechanical failures whatsoever. I'm not saying
that there is anything wrong with Castrol Syntec, but I would definitely consider giving Mobil 1 another shot.
As to your comment concerning how thick it was, you must be confused. Modil 1, 10W30 pours easier than almost
any standard oil on the market today.
