Hey, Y'all,

Guess what I just heard.

Drum roll, please, maestro:  Our so very polite and modest and (aside - what
was that?  Unassuming?  Yeah, that's it.) unassuming friend has now earned a
new form of address.  In polite society, as of this morning, it's now, ahem,
*Doctor* Al Powell.  For us as a group, it remains just ol' Al.  After all,
that new form of address is only for polite society.

Congratulations on the brand-spanking new Ph.D., Al.  You finally finished
and defended that dessert..., uh, dissurt..., uh, that bloomin' book.
