>From my reading lately (fairly extensive cause I have a Mini and a
Turbocharged Metro engine to graft together soon) the maintainence is
VERY important particularly with the Garretts. Provided the Turbo is
warmed up and cooled down correctly no probs. But how many people
(non-enthusiasts particularly) do this EVERY time. A manufacturer who
provides such advantages as water cooled bearings, seperate oil
coolers etc. understands that their vehicles may not ALWAYS be treated
as well as possible regardless of the owner.
BTW
The new ceramic turbos are turning up on mass here in Oz on the Jap
import cars. They are advertised as worry-free but no one will guarantee
them and a new one will cost at least AUS$7000- to replace.
