back to lights and wipers

>it was getting pretty good but i couldn't figure out where you were coming

>from! let's see - mandatory lights with wipers are a good thing but DRLs

>suck. you're a euro beam scofflaw but you want them wired to your wipers.

Lemme see if I can clarify my unique sorta position for you...a regulation
that requires people to use some already available safety gear in a way that
enhances visibility for all involved = ok by me. No changes in equipment,
personal choice in use of either control switch is intact.

DRL's (assuming worst case GM type here) = a new way for ignorant people to
either 1) run without all that hassle turning on the rest when it's dark, or
2) blind oncoming drivers, day or dusk, with no way to correct the situation
via controls. BTW, my euros are operated as usual, no electrical interlock,
just mental (yes, you can sure call me mental, now...).

I *like* the idea of personal choice, have ridden my motorsickle sans helmet
where legal when I wanted to (seldom, know of too many perished that way).
My euros are a personal protest against the DOT laws that gave all of us
85-91 Audi headlights (so poor as to be unsafe). If Mr. Po-lice Ossifer can
figure out that they're not the DOT-legal type, and cares to write it up, I
guess I'll just plead my case to the courts (and undoubtably lose). In the
meantime, I can see where I'm going! Whoopee!

>i figured you were just a grumpy old fart, stuck in some dark, wet corner

>of the country =8)

Yeah, *AUDI country* !! They's a few of us that actually _like_ it here...

BTW, I firmly believe grumpy old fartdom to be a state of mind...

>(apologies to all who may be damp, age-challenged, flatulent, clueless...)

Hee, hee!
