Jay,

I'm at work, so all I have is my trusty SOG Paratool. Given
that, I was afraid to take the screw completely out lest
it cause something else to happen that I wasn't prepared
to deal with. But I went out to the parking lot and started
to remove the screw (I was just afraid that maybe the fastener
inside the box was loose or something, so I didn't want to
completely remove it). The screw I'm talking about here
matches Dave Robbins' description, the one on the passenger
side with what looks like, oh, a 6mm head on it.

Anyway, it turns out that it's not a machine screw. It's a
self-tapping screw, with what appears to be a pretty aggressive
thread... by this, I mean that the thread pitch (distance
between two consecutive turns of the thread, along the
screw's long axis) looks fairly large, and the thread depth
is also fairly large. Looks like it's meant to self-tap into
plastic.
