Well, I took it too the dealer today after getting everyones e-mail,(so i
know what needed to be done) First a mechanic gets in and tries 1111, but
that didn't work. Then he told me there was nothing they could do because
you can program in your own code and they or I don't know it. I kept
telling him to take out the damn radio and get the serial number, then look
it up in the computer. Mr. Genius, Bill, wouldn't do and persisted it
wouldn't work. Finally he took it out but said there was no serial number
on it and shoved it back in. I forgot about him. Another mechanic looked at
my vin number and took the last three digits, and that was the correct code!
Didn't even get to see if the serial number would give it to me, which I
konw it would. Then he changed the code to what I wanted and finally told
him to just turn the damn thing off. Now there is no stupid code so it can't
be locked up. I was so pissed, I was there almost an hour talking to these
idiots who think they know everything. They even tried to have me send in
my radio and get a new one for 110 bucks. I kept telling them to just try
what I said. Assholes. The stupid mechanics wouldn't try it and luckily
the vin number was the right code.
