Dead rad fan 90Q20V
Angela's been complaining that her car is overheating, so I investigated
today. Her radiator fan appears dead. I pulled off the 3-pin connector
to the fan motor, and the wiring looks different from my 100Q. The pins are:
BROWN: ground, BLACK/RED: 2nd/3rd stage power, BLUE/RED: 1st stage?
Is the resistor pack integral to the motor? It's too tucked away to
see much of anything in her car.
With the car hot and the A/C on, there is +14V at both BK/R and BL/R
wires. However, there seems to be some serious melt-down around the
BROWN (ground) pin. There is also something that look suspiciously
like scorch marks on the top of the motor itself.
Do these motors eat themselves? Did I just fry the integral resistor pack?
