RE: Another one for the vac. pump
It will push itself off because it is spring loaded. No big deal. Just let
it fall off and take the rod sticking out of the head out and replace the
pump. If the pump is bad it should be quiet when you restart the engine.
Just removed mine and I have not noticed any difference from before. I am
still going to replace it but I am in no great hurry now.

Well I have a few more questions to ask. Last week I wrote that I
couldnt find the vacuum pump. With all your help,I finally found it,
thx!. Now the question is, how do I remove it? It is getting noisier as
the temp. gets colder. I tried to take it off from the two 1/2 " bolts
to the head. It seamed like the whole pump was going to pop right off
the head! I kinda got worried, so I tightened up the bolts. Do I pull
it right out, or are there other things I have to do first(ie. through
the valve cover.) The manual I have is pretty useless, it doesnt even
show the pump. Thanks again.
