I have a hypothesis that if you get them hot enough, instead of just
fading they soften a bit.  This would explain why they tend to be
destroyed on the track.

They have been just fine for my 1200kg Coupe and untalented driving style.
My rotors are ordinary Lemförder Metallwaren.
