Where might one go to get a glimpse of these extraordinary luminaries - I
take it that the earth's curvature prevents them from blinding us here on
the East coast of the new world.

Nice story about John White, Paul.  He is a good writer, IMHO also.  And I
respect his red dashboard issue, since color blindness is a widespread
problem.  Pity cars don't have two tone dash lights like my Kenwood stereo.
