Oh no.  A bad diaphragm will cause overboost on all the Audi turbo cars.
The diaphragm holds boost pressure in the lower chamber of the wastegate.
This pressure is what opens the wastegate.  If the diaphragm rips,
no pressure to open the wastegate, hence overboost.
