poor starting 5ktq

Lately I have had some trouble starting my 86 5ktq.  The enging turns over
really well, but it just won't start.  When I open up the hood and fiddle
with some wires and hoses, maybe tap the distributor cap a little, it fires
right up.  I think this is probably some ignition problem.  Or is it maybe
a problem with the fuel pump or accumulator.  I have noticed about 5 or 10
ticks coming from around the fuel accumulator area right when I start it
up.  What do you think?  Thanks for the help guys.
