Ambient Light Sensor

While playing around yesterday in my friends car (all being well, I'll 
pick mine up on Saturday :-) ) we noticed that the ambient light sensor 
did not seem to be working. What we are not sure of, is that little 
light supposed to come on when you turn your lights on anyway?
In other words, if it is, it looks like the bulb has blown.

What did make me chuckle yesterday was in the Owners manual, it says 
something on the lines of "never let 4WD and ABS lead you into a false 
sense of security"

Quite ironic really as I quoted this, as we were overtaking some guy in a 
Renault 21 Turbo on the outside of a corner in the rain last night. (I 
looked over and could see he was grining from ear to ear as we went past, 
he must of being impressed !!! )
