measure, mark, cut, hammer, paint.

Cut to shape,
Hammer to fit,
Paint to match.
Well, I've been painting things left and right these days. Helps me feel
less impotent while waiting for the next step down at the shop. So I have a
white 4kq exhaust manifold and downpipe, a lavender timing belt cover, and
orange cam cover and oil pan to go with my bright yellow oil fill cap. And
of course I trimmed out the markings on the last two with black. The guys
love it! They don't understand, but they love it. So I was just down there
, um, hammering some parts into place since There Is An Engine In My Audi
Again! I did some easy stuff like the cooling system and wiring harnesses
and spark plug wires/dist. cap.
Come to think of it maybe I should have stayed and done the intake parts and
the vacuum hoses. Whew! Those vacuum hoses! We've got parts of varying
quality from 2 or 3 different cars competing for attention in there - what's
to stay, what's to go? Instead I just replaced some bald tyres and got
myself gone. Sean threatens to have it running by noon tomorrow. I hope
theyc all and wake me up so I can go count the false attempts. BTW this is
going to cost me a fortune (by Audi standards? Not really!).
