If you're not AWD, stay off PDX roads tonight!

Hi guys (and gals):

Just wanted to say how glad I am that I drive a quattro. There is about 8"
of snow here in Portland, OR. A kind of freak, unexpected dump. Anyway, we
live on the top of the West Hills at the highest point in Portland. Logie
Trail road is very, very steep, with 3 hairpins and other interesting
curves. The '87 5ktqw handled it both up and down in stride. I helps that
they do not clear or sand the road, and that most of the residents don't
drive this road when it's snowing. Fresh powder is so nice to drive on! Up
near Scott Mockery's house in Multnomah, cars were backing down hills. My
wife's V8Q and my wagon passed most. Because she had such good traction, a
Mustang with a big ego almost took her out. Oh well, if you don't have All
Wheel Drive, don't drive in Portland tonight.

BTW, our V8 has Dunlop D60s as does the front of the wagon; the rear of the
wagon has one new stock OEM Goodyear and one OEM Continental!
