David Preece is _always_ the best person to contact, because he has the current
"For Sale" listings for the next newsletter.

You're right to go for an MB, though.  Accept no substitutes.

Once you've found one - check the chassis and engine numbers with Roger
Galvin.  We're currently tracking a number of engines that are missing from
vehicles evidently stolen to order for parts.  We found one of them in a members'
car, though he's an innocent party.

Then take it to BR Motorsport and spend 60 quid on Martin or Tim looking it
over for a couple of hours.  On a ten grand car (which is what a good MB
will cost you) it's peanuts - but they'll do turbo and compression tests that
could save you thousands.  The documentation should include old MOT certificates -
they're as good a guarantee as you'll get that the recorded mileage is genuine.

I got lucky when I bought my MB - I didn't really know what I was buying.  At that
time, I thought all ur-quattros were the same ...
