frozen to the ground

Don't know if this qualifies as finally being stuck with my d60a2's.  
Parked my car after a 50 + mile run, ended with about 1/4 mile of 
bucking snow.  The brakes froze solid, tapped them gently with a 
hammer.  Tires melted the ice they were on and froze in.  My car 
could not/ would not move.  Tried a little harder (in a hurry to 
leave for work) and snap.  The drivers side CV joint exploded,
literally a hundred pieces.  Had to wait for my wife to get home and 
drive her chebby to work : -(  late (not a problem).  Problem now is what 
is the best source of a new CV joint, and how hard are they to 
replace?
