I might add that the above described procedure is used on the upshift.
On the downshift it would go like this:
(push in clutch, let off gas, shift to neutral, let out clutch, <blip
the throttle>, push in clutch, shift into
lower).
 
Actualy, some stubborn gearheads still do this even in such a marvel of
modern technology as a 200TQ.
"Oh, well, the power of a habit",- thinks I, double clutching from 4th
into the 2nd entering a snowy downhill, while sarcastically watching a
sideways suxeL trying to push the brake pedal through the floor.
