Au contraire, mon cher ... up to a point, widening front track width will
actually improve the handling of many cars (my old '85 4k, for instance).
The low-riders you see with the wheels stuck 2/3s out of the fenders have
positive offset and the change is quite a bit more than just 8mm ... I've
found my 200q handles very well with a front track width 1" wider than in
the rear (of course, it's hard to isolate this from the 8x17 wheels, etc.)

Audi wheels have *negative* offset not positive ... that's why changing from
45mm offset to 30mm will push the wheel outwards and not inwards!
