While the idea of showing up in court and pleading not guilty is sound,
there is no such thing as a deferred sentence for speeding in Mass. But
you certainly can and should bargain for less points (or no points) and
therefore reduced fine and a smaller insurance surcharge. Almost makes
you forget speeding tickets are supposedly about safety, doesn't it...
