Subject: ECU recode?
As you wrote:
How many people out there are running Charlie spring mods or
some other ECU hack, Shrapnel Knobbin or pressure bleeder valve?
Send me an email directly. Orin and/or myself may want to provide
some low cost ECU mod for the people out there running with these
type of mods but who would never spend the $$ to go with the IA solution.
I don't want really want to compete with Ned at IA because I think
he provides a good mod and a LOT of good customer service for his price.
But......I kind of hate to see people run these hacks when there is a much
better way to go. Maybe I can start an "ECU club for Men"

actually kicks ass with it"

I,ve expecting shortly my Schrappnel knobben(R) from Paul, but before it's
installed I'm wondering what areas of concern your ECU"fix would address. I
think the knob kit readjusts the setpoint for the fuel cutoff (via resistor)
then simply supplys boost diectly to the top of the wastegate manifold at a
constant pressure controlled by a PRV instead of a cycling Solenoid valve.
(have I got this right Paul?) The remaining area would be either the boost
setpoint, using the SV or the fuel/timimg map area...? Im not an expert in the
area simply an enthusiast P Eng (Mechanical) Energy/process /HVAC areas.
You are correct that $$ (IA) was the primary factor in my decision, plus the
list comments on TAP. However the ability to adjust the peak boost was also a
big factor... thinking of a valet mode(1-1.2 bar), sporting mode1.9 bar),
trailering mode(a little less depending on engine temperature etc)..
Sincerly,
