Igor,
The Isuzu Piazza was called the Impulse in the US. This car, in
show car form was the Ace of Spades (it _may_ have been the Ace of one of
the other three suits - I forget exactly) by Giugiaro of Italdesign, and
was offered to VW as a Scirocco replacement since Giugiaro designed the
first Scirocco, but VW refused it, deciding instead to design their own
2nd generation Scirocco. I always thought that VW did a decent job on
the 2nd gen Scirocco, but it certainly was not in the stylistic league of
the Piazza. Mechanically, the Isuzu Piazza was based on the Chevette
platform, so they really were trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
To relate this to a Quattro list is rather tenuous at best, but
the 2nd generation Impulse was based on an entirely different platform
(that of the Geo Storm - much uglier too I might add) and in Canada, it was
also marketed in an AWD configuration.
